Northwoods Unitarian Universalist Church has been the sponsor organization for Millbend Coffeehouse since its inception in 1992. Several Northwoods singer-songwriters and performers have opened Millbend concerts in the past, and on more than one occasion have been the main act. This month, a wealth of Northwoods musicians will perform a wide variety of original music and artfully arranged covers of folk, rock, and contemporary songs. Included will be multi-talented Molli McMills, with topics ranging from Coming Out and the idiocy of prolonging dying, to her infamous treatment of what happens when she wakes up and her lover has turned into a woman. Rusty Rhoad will add his arrangements of hard-hitting songs arranged for Northwoods’ rock choir including The American Dream. Singer-songwriter Elizabeth Saxton will be doing an audience-participation improv as part of the performance. And there will also be a tribute to the music of Northwoods’ beloved, recently-departed musical spirit Paul Klein.
