Millbend
Coffeehouse Information & History
The Millbend Coffeehouse is a non-profit enterprise hosted
by the Northwoods Unitarian
Universalist Society.
Open the 2nd Saturday of every month, we are dedicated to
bringing the finest in national and local musical talent to
perform in our informal and intimate setting. We are a
smoke free and family friendly environment. In our intimate
venue you can meet the entertainers and obtain copies of the
hard to find CD's and cassettes of these fine performers.
Suggested donations vary. A percentage of the gate
goes to a local charity/cause -- which is determined by
audience vote and announced at the Intermission. Several
gourmet flavors of coffee and a variety of scrumptious
pastries are available, as well as juices and soft drinks, .
The Millbend Coffeehouse began in December of 1992, with a
show by The Banded Gekkos. Since then, we have
had numerous Kerrville regulars, as well as musicians who have
appeared on Austin City Limits and other national broadcasts. We
have presented musicians on
tour from across the US and foreign countries. During this period the Millbend
Coffeehouse has donated over $11,000 to local charities.
Originally, the shows were opened by local poets and
occasionally they still are. It is not unusual to find
displays of local painting, sculpture, or crafts in the lobby
before and after the performances.
The Millbend Coffeehouse is Produced by
